Questions and Answers
What is SUFA?
SUFA (Special Forces Academy) was established by graduates of the Special Forces units of the IDF and the Israeli Security Services, in partnership with business leaders from within the Israeli tourism and other industries. Our programs give visitors an insider perspective on how Israel became a world leader in security and counter-terrorism training — through fun and engaging hands-on experiences that go far beyond a simple rifle-shooting experience.
What activities do you offer?
Six packages: Introduction to SUFA (2.5 hours), Training with SUFA — a hands-on Krav Maga workshop (1 hour), SUFA Complete — the definitive military experience (2.5 hours), SUFA Extreme — a full-day program (5 hours), SUFA Overnight — a desert night mission (12 hours), and Fauda – Black Ops — an undercover Mista’arvim experience (2.5 hours).
Who are the instructors?
All SUFA Academy instructors are highly skilled security or military professionals — elite fighters from the IDF’s most highly respected combat units, with expertise in hand-to-hand combat, Krav Maga, and other defensive techniques.
What ages can participate?
Most packages are suitable for ages 8 and up; the Training with SUFA workshop is for ages 10 and up. Our programs are suitable for adult groups as well as families.
Is there a minimum group size?
Introduction to SUFA and Training with SUFA are especially well-suited for groups of 10 or more participants.
Do I need previous combat or martial arts training?
No. No combat or martial arts training is necessary, and all safety equipment will be provided by SUFA Academy.
Where do the activities take place?
At SUFA training facilities all over the country. SUFA Overnight takes place at the SUFA training facility in the Negev, and the Training with SUFA workshop can also be brought to any location of your choice (must be arranged in advance, additional fees may apply).
Can a program be customized for my group?
Yes — programs can be modified and customized to fit the specific needs or interests of your group.
Do participants receive anything at the end of training?
In SUFA Complete and SUFA Extreme, you will take the SUFA Certification Test to see whether you’ve mastered the skills required to be an IDF combat soldier — and receive a certificate of completion and a souvenir from your training.
